In a number of my reviews I have touted how good I think Geelong and Bellarine Chardonnay can be , with the 95 release from Bannockburn providing even more truth to that claim. This 18 year old wine is everything you could hope for in an aged Chardonnay and is an amazing drinking experience (cork gods willing).
It is a golden yellow in colour and opens up with gun flint, peach skins and some funkyness that only comes from great aged chardonnay.
The wine shows class and complexity everywhere you look with nectarine, creamy oak and soft spices.
The acid is till holding and will see this wine through to its 21st at least, the length on the finish is superb.
