This is the flagship Chardonnay release from Levantine Hill that’s sourced from one of the steepest sites on the Estate in the Yarra Valley. There was no expense spared in both the vinificiation and elevage, the oak used in particular is second to none.

A light yellow in the glass, with a nose that shows flint and wood smoke from quality french oak spice with fig and white peach fruits laced with richer lees notes.

A full bodied chardonnay that pushes the boundaries in terms of concentration, but manages to keep things in balance. There is a saturation of stone fruits that are intertwined with fig and pear. Oak gives both spice and texture with the tannin profile commanding and it adds a nicely balanced grapefruit like aspect to the mid palate. The finish is as luxurious as it is long, with a complex interplay between quality French oak and taut stone fruits.

Drinking well now, but will be even better in a year or two.
