2016 Rowlee Chardonnay

This is a world class Chardonnay that sits proudly amongst some of the best i have tasted in 2017. Rowlee a producer, and Orange is a region that deserves attention.

A light yellow in the glass with top notes of candied peach, gentle wood smoke and a touch of fig. There is an elegant tension on the palate between powdery citrus acidity, flinty input of french oak and beautifully textured stone fruits. The wine enjoys a mealy richness on the mid to back palate, but retains it’s balance and varietal definition. The finish has generosity of stone fruits, but lingers with wood smoke. A complete wine.
