2017 Punt Road Block 4 Chardonnay

A release that represents the best parcels of Chardonnay from the original vineyard planted in 1987.

A wonderfully complete wine that is only just starting to show its future promise with a purity of white peach and nectarine that has positively soaked up the 40% new French oak with background almond-meal and brioche for good measure.

Such balance, there is a line of citrus acidity that gives backbone to expressive stone fruits. New oak gives an element of texture and richness but the beauty is its slow build of tannin that gives breadth and mouthfeel. The finish is coloured by almond and cashew set against precise stone fruits; Give this time and watch it shine.
