The 2020 release of the 864 is all about elegance, structure and length from a year that is very different to the vintages of this Australian classic that sit on either side in 2019 and 2021.
A light to golden yellow in terms of colour, the nose has generosity of fragrant white peach with flint and almond meal well proportioned. The palate is built around ripe nectarine fruit with a slow build of mealy richness and undercurrent of fresh lemon and grapefruit in terms of textural and flavour impact. The finish has great balanced between textured and worked stone fruits and the underlying purity and drive of the fruit. The length is significant.
