2022 Oakridge Willowlake Chardonnay

A light yellow in the glass with a reductive, flint like opening that reveals tightly held stone fruits and lemon. The palate has a steely drive to it, but the concentration of fruit and the perfectly managed influence of oak and lees has meant things are in equal measure.

Pushing the boundaries of chardonnay with the reductive characters adding so much to the wine, you can't help but admire it. The finish is long with stone fruits, flint, and understated oak all having impact.
