Review Detail
2012 Mayhem & Co. B & W Chardonnay
Wine Rating
96
A lightly golden yellow in colour, this wine is more out of the book of Burgundy than Adelaide Hills with whole bunch, 80% Malo, regular lees stirring and a fair proportion of new oak.
The nose shows citrus and unripe peach with an understated oatmeal character that sparks interest from the outset.
What I love about this wine is the edgy lemon pith character that is lean and mineral but just when you think it is too much structured richness comes in the way of buttery sour edged nectarine.
The acid structure keeps the wine fresh and focused on the finish with a hint of brioche.
This wine will cellar effortlessly.
