Review Detail
2001 Leeuwin Estate Art Series Chardonnay
Wine Rating
93
A lightly golden yellow in colour, with the cork gods being kind on this bottle, unlike a few previous attempts i have had with this wine.
The nose has an apple tarte tatin character with a caramalised nuttiness and some stone fruits in the background.
The palate is fully mature with marzipan and fig on entry, nectarine and subtle spice stars on the mid to back palate. The wine has tremendous length and lingers with peach skins and cashew.
