Review Detail
2011 Gryphonwood One Bunch Chardonnay
(Updated: November 07, 2013)
Wine Rating
92
Gryhonwood is a producer that i havetn't tried, so when i came across this wine at a tasting i was pleasantly surprised, it is a wine with real character and funk, that is atypical to both the vintage and the generally pristine and structured nature of Tasmanian Chardonnay.
The wine has ample stone fruit characters on the palate, that more than handle the sweet vanillin and spicy oak inputs, more importantly the wine has an acid profile that cuts through the layers fruit and oak on the palate and keeps the wine fresh and balanced.
