Review Detail
2011 Tarrawarra Estate Chardonnay
Wine Rating
89
The wine has a flinty, slightly sulphurous nose that adds interest to the mealy stone fruit and citrus characters. On the palate there is good complexity of lees and oak derived characters against full peach and more restrained lemon pith.
The wine begins to taper off on the finish with pleasant almond meal and peach, but without the driving acidity to frame the finish. The 2011 will be a short to medium term cellaring prospect.
