Review Detail
2011 Dalwhinnie Estate Chardonnay
Wine Rating
87
Dalwhinnie are most well known for their iconic Shiraz, but in good years they also produce some exceptional Chardonnay, unfortunately 2011 was not one of them.
The wine is a light yellow in colour, with more apricot and musk aromas than i can remember in previous vintages, the wine suffers from a lack of varietal and fruit expression which is masked by oak. It will be interesting to see if complex and contrasting flavours emerge over time.
