Review Detail
2011 Moorooduc Estate Chardonnay
Wine Rating
92
The number of very good 2011 Chardonnay's that i have tried is really starting to climb, with the 2011 from Moorooduc an excellent example of the variety and vintage.
The wine itself is a light yellow in colour with a honeyed nose of white stone fruits, a touch of oak and melon. The palate has a 'peacocks tail' experience with soft stone fruits on entry that get a hit of mouth filling spice on the mid to back palate. There is a richness to finish that is kept in check by the steely acidity that has been the hallmark of the vintage.
This wine will continue to develop in stature and complexity over time.

Lovely review - thankyou! Glad you enjoyed the wine. Isn't it great when a difficult vintage delivers such great results! Gift of the weather gods!
