Chardonnay October 11, 2014
2013 Soumah Single Vineyard Chardonnay
(Updated: October 11, 2014)
Wine Rating

93
This wine comes from French clones 95 and 76, was fermented with wild yeast, had a portion of new oak and partial malolactic fermentation. There is no surprise that the resultant wine is complex and rich, but at the same time has maintained a structure that will reward cellaring.

A light yellow in colour, the nose is framed by fig and nectarine that is wrapped in wood smoke and brioche.

The palate displays layers of stone fruits, the oak is supporting and richer lees characters on the mid to back palate are restrained by precise acidity. Excellent length to finish, with the wine to give more in years to come.
