Review Detail
2012 Willow Creek Chardonnay
Wine Rating
94
I have long been a fan of the wines crafted by Geraldine McFaul, with Chardonnay and Pinot produced by this long time Mornington winemaker rarely disappointing.
The wine is a light yellow in the glass with great perfume of nectarine, gun smoke and wood spice. The palate has tightly bound stone fruits and racy citrus characters that are complemented by fuller almond-meal and white peach. The acidity on the finish is framing and accentuates the length. Drinking well now, and will continue to grow in stature over years to come.
