1995 Bannockburn Estate Chardonnay
Wine Rating

97
I have had the pleasure of tasting a number of Bannockburn Chardonnay’s from the 1990’s and have been consistently impressed by their ability to age and gain exceptional complexity yet maintain balance. There is a very small list of Australian producers that can boast to have Chardonnay’s that are not only alive after close to 20 years, but in the best form of their life.

The wine is a golden yellow, with a flinty nose that seamlessly integrates wood smoke and layers of stone fruits. The palate has impeccable balance, rich wood spice and white peach gets cut through by fine acidity, there is a butterscotch richness on the mid to back palate that lingers with impressive length. What a great drinking experience.
