Chardonnay November 13, 2014
2013 Deep Woods Reserve Chardonnay
Wine Rating

96
The word reserve is often misused, but this is a great use of the term. An exceptional Chardonnay that has structure, complexity and intrigue. It’s a truly compelling wine.

A light yellow in colour, the nose gives flint, wood smoke and attractive stone fruits. The wine has piercing acidity on the palate that is perfectly in tune with marzipan richness, restrained stone fruit and textural grapefruit and wood spice. The length to finish is impressive, with sour edged nectarine and taut acidity.

This wine will continue to evolve over the short to medium term.
