2003 Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Boudriotte

Wine Rating

96
La Boudriotte is a small Premier Cru vineyard site of the Chassagne-Montrachet appellation in Burgundy. La Boudriotte lies within the grounds of Morgeot Abbey and is technically a sub-division of the more-famous Morgeot Premier Cru climat.

The wine is a mature golden yellow in colour, the nose is etherial with flinty and mineral wood smoke that shows white peach and lees complexity.

The palate has powdery nectarine and precise acidity whilst maintaining a buttery edge. There is savoury oyster shell and flinty gun smoke to finish; exceptional depth and lingering acidity.
