Review Detail
2013 Seville Estate Chardonnay
Wine Rating
94
The 2013 Estate Chardonnay is barrel fermented using wild yeast. A range of oak formats are used that range from 300 - 2200 ltr with 30% new and the wine seeing 10 months on lees prior to bottling.
This is another great release and there is no doubt in my mind Seville Estate are one of the premier producers of the variety in the valley. The wine is a very light yellow in the glass, the nose expressing flinty and mealy stone fruits.
Textured and layered, the palate has ample white peach and nectarine, but never wanders too far from its core of flinty acidity, the impact of time on lees adds depth and contrast prior to the long and elegant finish.
