Review Detail
2006 Kooyong Estate Faultline Chardonnay
Wine Rating
91
A lightly golden yellow in colour, the nose is fully mature with caramelised peach and nectarine fruits that are at their apex just before they start their slow decline and become too broad and lacking in focus.
The palate has retained it's oyster shell, mineral acidity that is the hallmark of Mornington Chardonnay, the palate builds with spiced stone fruits and wood smoke, there is textural grip that gives the wine contrast and accentuates the finish; one which is steeped in buttery nectarine fruit.
If you have a bottle of this wine now is the time to drink.
