Chardonnay June 03, 2015
2014 Rob Hall Yarra Valley Chardonnay
Wine Rating

92
Rob Hall is a small winemaker in the Yarra Valley, however he has a history at one of the most iconic of Yarra Valley producers having been the winemaker at Mount Mary between 2002 - 2011. The wines he produces show quality and value.

The 2014 Chardonnay is a light yellow in the glass, there is a nice little sulphide kick to the nose that sits well alongside fuller stone fruits that almost have an apricot undertone.

The wine has depth and breadth, with a nice grapefruit zing that brings it all together; texturally there is a subtle almond-meal complexity on the mid palate, with the wine showing a balance between a fullness of fruit and fresh citrus inspired acidity to finish.
