Review Detail
2013 Domaine Epis Chardonnay
(Updated: November 14, 2015)
Wine Rating
94
Domaine Epis is a minuscule producer of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and an even smaller amount of Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyards are located in the Macedon ranges, with the vineyard in Woodend just 3 km's from my house !
The wine is very Burgundian in style, a golden yellow in colour, the nose shows honeyed stone fruits and background wood spice and fig.
The palate is round and supple, but shows elegance and finesse. There is honeyed white peach set amongst baked quince and raw cashews. The wine has textural grip to finish which is long and lingering.
Drinking well now and over the medium term.
