Review Detail
2013 Jack Rabbit Chardonnay
Wine Rating
88
The nose on this wine is heavily worked with ample vanillin spice that leaves varietal stone fruits in it's shadow; there is also a touch of canned corn that is a slight distraction.
On the palate the wine does show good acidity and nicely layered stone fruits with the wood spice and brioche notes that were expected from the nose.
The wine finishes with leesy richness, but has enough spice and acid to keep it from being cloying. I think this wine will be best over the shorter term.
