Review Detail
2014 Petaluma Piccadilly Valley Chardonnay
Wine Rating
92
A release that does well to combine quality inputs and understated winemaking technique. There is a purity of fruit that underpins the wine and gives contrast to it's richer, developed characters.
A classical nose of stone fruits, struck match and background mealy characters. The palate is supported by a base of steely stone fruits upon which well worked brioche and creamier lees inputs show themselves. The wine finishes with a flinty expression of nectarine.
