2014 Vasse Felix Heytesbury Chardonnay
Wine Rating

96
The Heytesbury is a barrel selection of Chardonnay that has been fermented using wild yeast and aged in French oak (64% new) for 9 months. The wine spent time on lees but was not allowed to go through malo.

A light yellow in the glass, worked fig and brioche on the nose with white peach and lime zest. An enjoyably complex wine that is steeped in woodsmoke with fine tendril of acidity and layers of stone fruits that give both ripe white peach and more savoury nectarine skins in the same breath. Great mouthfeel and depth to finish.
