2011 Sandalford Prendiville Reserve Chardonnay
Wine Rating

95
Only 10,000 bottles were produced with the fruit coming from the gin gin Chardonnay clone from vines planted in 1985.

The wine is a stand out example of Margaret River Chardonnay, and has benefited from a few years on the bottle. In terms of colour the wine is a light golden hue with a nose of worked stone fruits, fig and wafts of spicy tight grained French oak. The wine flows effortlessly with a melange of peach and nectarine fruits given a citrus and spice backdrop to work with, there is complex fig and almond meal on the layered finish.

Drinking well now but will reward further cellaring.
