Review Detail

2008 Scotchmans Hill Sutton Vineyard Chardonnay
Wine Rating

91
The wine was sourced from the original Sutton Farm vineyard with the wine whole bunch pressed and fermented with wild yeast and matured in a combination of new and seasoned french oak for 16 months.

The wine is a golden yellow hue in the glass with a nose of creamy white peach and touch of wood smoke. The palate is rich and layered, benefiting from regular lees stirring with brioche notes sitting comfortably alongside ripe but attractive stone fruits. The wine has a background note of praline with framing acidity to finish guaranteeing a couple more years in the cellar.
