Review Detail
2015 Toolangi Estate Chardonnay
Wine Rating
93
The 2015 release was again produced at Oakridge by Chardonnay master David Bicknell, a slightly fuller wine than previous years with great texture and mouthfeel.
A light straw yellow, a youthful nose of aromatic nectarine with trop notes of flint, honey and almond meal, over time these notes will become more evident.
Significant fruit weight on the palate, a subtle line of citrus acidity keeps things flowing with fig and white peach the mainstay; interjections of oak and lees complexity add complexity. The finish has textural grip that is steeped in almond meal and a gentle wood spice.
