2014 Athletes of Wine Vinero Romsey Chardonnay
Wine Rating

93
Produced by Liam O’Brien and Matt Brooke this is a wine of consistent quality with some pretty impressive winemaking technique that fully expresses the Chardonnay grape but doesn’t allow it to lose it’s varietal appeal.

The wine has benefited from a few years in bottle with some funky, flinty sulphide notes on the nose that work in amongst nectarine fruit and toasted oak. There is great drive and underlying fruit to the palate with fuller almond meal and struck match characters a complementary complexity that doesn’t take away from the characteristic fruit of the Macedon Ranges.

Is destined to live for a long time.
