Review Detail
2016 Churchview Estate Range Chardonnay
Wine Rating
91
The result of part maturation in barrel and the other in stainless steel created a wine with good varietal definition and freshness. A light yellow in the glass the nose has melon, peach and an ever so slight pickled ginger note that provides plenty of interest.
The palate is vibrant and driven by white peach and nectarine with a steady line of lemony acidity from start to finish, some time on lees gives breadth and texture to the finish.
A well made, balanced wine that will reward some short term cellaring.
