2015 Coombe Farm Chardonnay
Wine Rating
94
Coombe Farm is a relatively new label, however the estate vineyards are amongst the oldest and largest in the Yarra Valley. The wine was produced from the P58 and Mendoza Chardonnay clones, was aged in a mixture of new and old french oak for 11 months.10% of the wine allowed to go through malolactic fermentation.
A lightly golden yellow in the glass, the nose has floral white peach and nectarine with subtle brioche notes adding richness.
An elegant, tightly bound Chardonnay with a youthful tension between stone fruits and a citrus acidity thats tempered by almond meal and flint. The finish is framed by oak induced spice with impressive length of nectarine.
A wine that will continue to grow in stature over time.
