Review Detail
2015 Sidewood Owen’s Chardonnay
Wine Rating
95
The nose speaks of both site and winemaker, with gunflint and worked mealy notes set against piercing nectarine fruit. The palate showcases the complexity and generosity of malolactic fermentation with worked almond meal notes and a richness of stone fruits centre stage, there is taut mineral acidity that does well to keep the wines richer notes at bay.
The finish shows flashes of spice and lingering white peach. Another benchmark Adelaide Hills Chardonnay.
