Review Detail
2015 Wantirna Estate Isabella Chardonnay
Wine Rating
95
A family run business in every sense of the word, Wantrina Estate is a pioneer of the Yarra Valley and produces wines of elegance year in and year out. The 2015 Chardonnay is an impressive release with the nose gives worked peach, melon and nectarine fruit with gentle almond and biscuit notes set against finely filamented French oak spice.
The youthful palate speaks of a wine that is sure to cellar well with flinty, spicy oak meeting tightly bound stone fruits in equal measure. Time will see the fruit unfurl on a bed of creamy lees induced richness and an ever present flint like thread of oak.
