Review Detail
2015 Mount Mary Chardonnay
Wine Rating
97
A spectacular release, Mount Mary’s consistency across their whole range is remarkable. The Chardonnay is not always the most lauded, but this is up there with the best in the Valley.
An evocative nose that hits all the right notes. There is worked flint and mealy richness with well defined fig and peach delivered in equal measure. The palate has impact with impressive concentration of stone fruits, oak induced spice and worked less notes that are tied together by a flowing, lithe line of acidity. The finish has layers of stone fruits and reaches a crescendo alongside winemaker and oak derived complexity.
A wine of true polish and class.
