Review Detail
2016 Rikard Chardonnay
Wine Rating
94
A vibrant light yellow in the glass, the nose shows the class of this wine from the get go with a flint and wood smoke aspect to white peach and toffee apple that showcases the 25% new French Oak that was used during maturation.
The palate is stone fruit dominant, but provides layers of fruit and oak complexity across the journey. A touch of fig works is well with an almodmeal like richness with a taut line of acidity that keeps things focused to finish and ensures a medium term cellaring proposition.
Another exceptional release from Rikard with significant stature.
