The lucky Lizard is always a favourite of mine from d’Arenberg. It is a wine that over delivers for the price point with the 2016 vintage no different.
The nose enjoys a plushness of white peach with almond meal and fig aromatics with a touch of oak.
A generous, full bodied chardonnay that has concentration of stone fruits that work amongst flint and butterscotch. There is ample texture to contrast the wines richer notes to finish.
Drinking well now, but will really start to hit it’s straps in a year or two. You won’t be disappointed for the price.
