2016 Ten Minutes by Tractor Wallis Chardonnay
Wine Rating

97
This is an exceptional release that has harnessed the virtues of a warm vintage to it’s advantage in creating a mouth filling, and complex chardonnay that retains elegance and definition. The wine saw 25% new oak and a large portion went through malolactic fermentation.

The nose is is layered with flint, fig, new season nectarine and meyer lemon that’s shrouded by attractive wood smoke aromatics that are subtle as they are impactful.

The palate has a tantalising baseline of acidity with a mineral and grapefruit edge. Oak givies texture and spice to generous white peach and fig, with the impact of malo providing a cashew like richness. The finish is accentuated by citrus acidity with a gentle creaminess of stone fruits that linger, but also have you going back for more.
