Review Detail
2017 Punt Road Chardonnay
Wine Rating
94
Restrained, elegant and will evolve beautifully over time. This is a consistent way to describe many of the current releases being produced by Punt Road under the guidance of winemaker Tim Shand.
A light to straw yellow in colour with attractive white peach, almondmeal, flashes of woodsmoke and understated fig. The wine works from a baseline of meyer lemon and pristine stone fruits that are interwoven with fig, blanched almonds with a gentle build of texture. A wine of underrated elegance that is just starting to fill out and will be superb in years to come.
