2018 Aylesbury Estate Pater Series Chardonnay
Wine Rating

92
There were only 2450 bottles produced and there was plenty of winemaking technique thrown at what is still a very youthful wine. The nose shows fig, flint and a faint sulphide funk that works well amongst white peach and nectarine fruits.

Driving acidity frames the wine that is built around piercing stone fruits and gentle cashew notes. Oak gives a smokiness to the mid plate before a brine edge to peach brings it home. A year or so more in bottle will be rewarded.
