2018 Sidewood Estate Chardonnay

Flint, oyster shell and citrus initially, but with time and a bit of warmth to the glass almond meal and white peach show themselves.
The wine is exactly where you would want a 2018 Chardonnay to be in mid 2019, there is lovely bright acidity and fine citrus lines however oak provides gentle spice and stone fruits are just starting to have real impact. There is an almond meal grip on the finish and everything is there to say this will evolve into something with even more impact with a few years in bottle. Great value as always.
