2018 Goldman Wines Margaret River Chardonnay
Wine Rating

91
The grapes were sourced from Edinger Estate and made under contract at Flametree wines. Ferment was wild yeast and the wine aged in 40% new French oak. The wine is only a baby, with a tightness of fruit and impact from oak that will need time in bottle to fully unfurl.

The oak gives a dominant smoke and vanilla edge to the nose with white peach and fig in the background. The wine has structure, acidity is mineral and the use of a high proportion of oak and time on lees has given generosity of texture with plenty of almond meal like input. The finish shows a lithe line of acidity with a citrus thread and white peach.
