Review Detail

2018 Goldman Wines Alpine Valley Chardonnay
Wine Rating

94
The wine was produced from the Greenachres Vineyard, with only 65 dozen made. Fermented using wild yeast and aged in 40% new oak it certainly got some luxurious treatment.

A generous and seductive nose that highlights quality cool climate fruit and the generous impact of tight grain french oak. The palate is etched around piercing nectarine fruit with a web of fig and vanillin oak influence that also gives a mealy texture on the mid palate. Good length to finish with a fig and spice edge to stone fruits.
