Review Detail
2019 Giant Steps Sexton Vineyard Chardonnay
Wine Rating
96
The nose shows worked peach and brioche with beautiful definition of flint, fig and nougat. The wine is generous and well rounded with a citrus core of acidity; stone fruits focus on white peach and are lifted by a touch of grapefruit. There is a coiled up tension that is showcased through the build of texture and intensity as the wine moves across the palate, oak has impact through both texture and spice. The length to finish is significant, with the wine sure to live for a decade or more.
