Review Detail
2019 Driftwood Single Site Chardonnay
Wine Rating
97
A wine that has flagship written all over it; concentration, focus and a wonderful interplay between winemaker and exceptional fruit.
The nose has a mealy aspect to white peach and grapefruit alongside flint and spice. The palate gives layers of interest, stone fruits work against piercing acidity with wood spice and lemon zest providing both flavour and texture. The finish is expansive with a grapefruit like influence to stone fruits that linger with a final embellishment of spice.
