Chardonnay February 28, 2011
2009 Barrat Piccadilly Valley Chardonnay
Wine Rating

94
Light yellow to golden hue in the glass, the nose is lean and shows subtle stone fruits in more of a Chablis style. The palate is understated and considerate with delicate and focused fruit of peach, nectarine and fig. The wine has wonderful complexity with layers of flavour that leads to a finish that combines fruit, acid and spice in complementing proportions. The length is considerable, and the wine will only improve with some medium term cellaring.
