Review Detail
2011 Sir Paz Estate Bee Hive Chardonnay
Wine Rating
93
The wine was fermented in new and 1 year old French Oak, and is showing well after a decade in barrel.
2011 was not an easy year, but there have been some excellent Chardonnay’s with great longevity. A medium yellow in colour with a nose of ripe peach that is accentuated by flint like spice and a touch of butterscotch. There is good flow of acidity on the palate with a citrus edge to stone fruits that keeps what is an undeniably generous and rich wine in check. In a great place right now and over the next couple of years.
