Review Detail

2005 Grampians Estate Mafecking Gold Chardonnay
Wine Rating

87
Light yellow in colour the nose is attractive with fig and ripe nectarine. The palate is overwhelmed by rich oak influences and spice with the fruit somewhere in the background.

The finish is rich, but again lacks the fruit to balance the richer oak and lees characters.
