Review Detail
2008 Frankland Estate Isolation Ridge Chardonnay
Wine Rating
95
The wine throws a medium to golden colour in the glass, butterscotch, fig and toasted almond leap from the glass and set expectations for the palate that are soon met.
There are literally layers of peach and nectarine fruit with the occasional dash of citrus that cuts a swathe through the opulent stone fruits.
The acidity is firm and zippy and provides a superb mouthfeel against the ripe rich fruit. The wine has savoury spicy oak characters on the finish and lingers with peach and roasted almond.
