2016 Lost Buoy Forgotten Ida Grenache

This got my attention in a line up of Grenache, it’s not your typical representation of McLaren Vale. The nose has a slight spearmint note to vibrant raspberry and cherry fruit with background spice. The mix of some American oak in this wine has definitely been a positive one, It has given another dimension of flavour without being over bearing.

The palate has a generosity of blue fruits with a slight herbaceous edge and plenty of oak induced spice, tannins are grainy and have a dark chocolate note to them, the finish has length of dark cherry fruit.

At $25 a bottle this won’t disappoint.
