2019 Yangarra Hickinbotham Grenache 

Some fascinating winemaking went into this, the wine was fermented in a 1800L stone amphora on skins for 90 days before further ageing of 8 months. It is the definition of a wine that speaks of place and purity of fruit.

A fragrant nose with strawberry and red cherry met with earth, five spice, clove and stewed berry compote. The palate is elegant with with long lines of red cherry fruit before wood spice adds dimension and texture, there are fine sinews of tannin with bright red fruits that are drying and almost savoury to finish.

The length is excellent, balancing generosity of fruit and savoury impact.
