Review Detail
2011 Greenock Creek Cornerstone Grenache
Wine Rating
90
The 2011 is an interesting take on Grenache, still hitting at 15% which is a minor miracle given the 2011 growing conditions, it is initially hard to place the nose with sweet fruited cherry and jubey raspberry fruit that is backed by quality vanillin oak.
The palate has a core of bright red fruits with interweaving spices and oak derived richness, on the mid to back palate some licorice and pepper notes add complexity.
The finish has fine tannins and a good line of acidity ensuring the wine finishes fresh and vibrant.
This is a wine that will be best enjoyed in it’s youth
